25 – Josh Wade – 2009-2010

“The King of Pain”

Often known in Greyhound circles by his nickname, “The King of Pain,” Josh Wade has been a Greyhound fixture since joining the 2009 Greyhounds following his 5th grade year. Josh was immediately known for his physical game, his willingness to dive on the floor for loose balls, and his tireless work ethic. He became the first player to be twice-awarded the Abele Trophy for Hardest Worker, winning the award in the 2009 and 2010 seasons. His final year as an active player, 2010, he was awarded the Game Ball for best performance in the 2nd game, selected as a Team Captain, and awarded the Smith Trophy as the Greyhounds’ Best Teammate. As a seventh-grader, he was asked to return as the Greyhound’s Top Assistant Coach, a position which he held in the 2011 and 2012 seasons. He was the first Greyhound to become a Greyhound Assistant Coach.
